Energetic star Ram Pothineni's upcoming film 'Red', the remake of Thadam. It is helmed by Kishore Tirumala and co-produced by Krishna Chaitanya and Sravanthi Ravi Kishore under Sri Sravanthi Movies. The film would have been released by now if the corona virus outbreak was not happened.


Since the beginning of the lockdown period, the makers of 'Red' have been waiting patiently for the reopening of theatres. However the wait became uncertain. There opened the doors for OTT release. But still the 'Red' team did not give up.
Recently Natural Star Nani shocked every one by announcing that 'V' movie will have direct OTT release. This is the 1st big movie to have a OTT release. Therefore other big/medium budget movies including 'Red' too are in plans of walking in 'V' path.


A digital giant approached the 'Red' team with a decent deal. Even producer Sravanthi Ravikishore too gave nod for it. However Ram said no to this deal. As per reports Ram only wants theatrical release for this movie as he is very confident on this.
Even there is no pressure on makers as the expenses are already recovered from Hindi dubbing rights and Telugu satellite rights. So as of now there is no OTT release for 'Red'. We have to see how long they will hang on.
